You may watch Karina Ricks’ presentation in it’s entirely here. Karina’s presentation stressed the importance of diversifying transportation options by making alternative travel modes such as public transit or walking more convenient, competitive and dignified. To do this, she adds, requires attention to the details of design and enhanced connections to important places.

In the presentation, Susan talks about her work at S.M.A.R.T.(Sustainable Mobility & Accessibility Research & Transformation) at the University of Michigan, and the importance of understanding mobility as a spectrum of different types, each essential to a healthy and successful whole. Susan also discusses how enhanced mobility can help strengthen communities by allowing for a fluid and dynamic exchange between people, businesses and institutions.

In the presentation, GB discusses transit oriented development, including how transit stations can be great civic places, as well as the future of urban places, and trends in transit and urban development. GB provides several examples of how other cities and regions are creating great places with the help of transit investment.
